OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO.
Follow the story of a young man as he experiences hardship and goes on a journey of self exploration. Loosely based on the themes of the Dr. Seuss childrens’ classic, Oh, The Places You’ll go is an edgy teen drama that carries heavy themes of tragedy, self control, and finding your place in the world. Tom Holland stars as Chase King in this HBO Max original film, coming exclusively to the service soon.
The branding for this film focuses on combining the themes, visuals, and tones from the new, original movie with some of the classic visual language found within the original Dr. Seuss book. By using the iconic rainbow stripes from the book’s cover, the gears of viewers’ brains will immediately begin turning and associating this film with the book, a book which is likely nostalgic to much of the core target demographic for this film. From the visuals within the HBO Max service to the social media campaign run on Instagram, this film’s visual branding language is defined by black and white moody photo collage that is contrasted with the pastel rainbow colors that people recognize so well.
