MODA: SIGNATURE SERIES.
The Museum of Design Atlanta, known by its acronym, MODA, is a prominent museum located in Atlanta, Georgia. MODA’s Signature Series exhibition is an event that the museum holds every year to highlight specific influential artists who have strived to achieve great and influential peaks within their specific artistic mediums or styles. Each year, MODA’s committee of art historians vote on three artists whose work and story they believe the public and local community of Atlanta artists will be inspired by. Most recently, the committee has decided that MODA will be featuring René Magritte, Niki De Saint Phalle, and Senga Nengudi.
Though these artists thrived using different styles, Magritte with surrealist paintings, Saint Phalle with monumental sculpting, and Nengudi with abstract sculptures and performance art, these three artists all left lasting impacts that can be seen as influential to artists of any medium. MODA’s Signature Series style for this year’s event is designed in a way that looks visually interesting while still allowing the featured artists and their work to take center stage. Beyond that, each artist is designated a specific color to help ease the flow of the physical event, allowing each section to be immediately identified as belonging to one of the specific artists.
